My School Project

I never thought that Egypt could be so interesting. My teacher really inspired me to start my Ancient Egyptian eg02project as soon as I was assigned it. I have already baked and built a pyramid cake and shared it with my class. I have really been interested in learning about the sphinx. I have learned quite a bit of information that I can’t wait to write about. Did you know they have found a new pyramid? I wonder who it belongs to. Ancient Egypt is such an interesting subject  I can’t wait to learn more.

Ancient Egyptians used hieroglyphicseg03 instead of the alphabet which we use now. Scribes were the people who wrote hieroglyphics. These were used mostly by pharaohs to send information about important events, special dates, and the names of kings or queens. The picture on the left are hieroglyphics and picture art. The hieroglyphics at the bottom make a word can you solve it.

Pyramids are a resting place for pharaohs. Inside a pyramid is a room  for the kings chamber, a room for the grand gallery, queens chamber room, and an escape shaft for the workers who placed the granite plugs. In front of a pyramid is a mortuary where offers were made. There are hieroglyphics on the inside wall of a pyramid. The sphinx was the only pyramid to have a giant crouching lion which is a symbol of the sun. Have you ever gone in a pyramid before?

The Curse of King Tutankhamen

Tut1"Death comes to he who enters a tomb of a dead pharaoh." These are  the words printed above King Tutankhamen's tomb. King Tutankhamen's tomb was the only tomb not to be robbed because the workers built the tomb underground. Over twenty two people who had something to do with the opening of the tomb died within years .That is how the curse started. The newspapers made a big deal out of it. Today there are different theories It might have been the mold or fungus in the air. To this day we are not sure because it might have even been a coincidence. What do you think?

     Sixteen steps,
     What could it be?
     A tomb for a pharaoh,
     A curse indeed.
